Who am I ?Gestalt-therapist

Hello

I trained as a Gestalt therapist at 3 training institutions in France and Belgium (Belgian Gestalt Institute, Parisian Gestalt School, French Institute of Gestalt Therapy in Bordeaux) and I welcome adults and young adults looking for more meaning in their lives and better alignment and adjustment in their relationships with others.

The ‘Gestalt’ approach (which means ‘form’ in German) is based on the assumption that the person is in constant contact with the world around him or her and is continuously affected (positively or negatively) by his or her environment. In this context, the objective of the therapy is to increase awareness through the experience proven in the session in order to find an appropriate adjustment to the situations as they arise and are experienced. Over the course of the sessions, the emotional and physical experience of the patient, as felt in the ‘here and now’, promotes a transformation and the establishment of a certain fluidity of contact in everyday life.

Background: With a multidisciplinary initial training in international law and labour economics, I have always had a great interest in personal development. I have experimented many therapeutic approaches throughout my life, mindfulness and I do practice meditation on a regular basis. For the past 8 years, I have been living in Brussels after living and working for more than 15 years in different European countries as well as in Africa and the Middle East. This experience has made me particularly aware of issues of minority integration, gender issues and migration.

What drives me is the desire to accompany people in their journey towards a better aligned being in the social and personal spheres. Thus, taking into consideration their own history and close environment to restore a certain fluidity in their social, professional and personal interactions. I don’t pretend to know better for the other, so I prefer to opt for a non-directive posture that allows the joint co-construction.

My audience: I address adults and young adults as well as vulnerable audiences, seniors, migrants, LGBTQI+ people in search of the more meaningful like aligned with their values. Individuals who are going through a difficult period of break-up, burn-out or crises leading to suffering and who deeply wish to make a change.

Modalities: The interviews take place for 60 minutes, in the form of a face-to-face dialogue, taking the time to sit down, to look at things more precisely and to take a step back and discover other points of view together. Past experiences and trauma can invite themselves in the session but the focus will be given to how it impacts the present that I suggest to look at the tracer that certain events may have left.

Ethics and Deontology: I am a member of the Belgian Gestalt Society (SBG) and my therapeutic practice is governed by the SBG’s code of ethics as well as by the supervision of my peers.
